SACC Chicago Annual Golf Outing

The Swedish American Chamber of Commerce Chicago hereby invites you to our 2023 Annual Golf Outing.

The Golf Outing is the perfect occasion to spend a day outside with friends, colleagues and clients at the beautiful Arboretum Club in Buffalo Grove. Participants can create their own team of four or sign up individually and be assigned to a team for the golf scramble.

VIN 90, the Arboretum Club’s restaurant, will serve burgers & brats hot off the grill for purchase for those who want to enjoy lunch at the club before hitting the golf course. Lunch & beverages will be available for purchase throughout the day.

After the game, we will gather for the Award Ceremony to announce the winners and pass on the Les Nelson Trophy to the Open Category winning team. Following the ceremony we will mingle and enjoy dinner on the patio.

  • Golf & Dinner: $165

  • YP Golf & Dinner: $110 (30 and under)
  • YP Golf Only: $65 (30 and under)

MULLIGANS

Allows a player to replay a bad stroke. Cannot be used for Closest to Pin, Longest Drive or competitions (holes 7 and 16).

One Mulligan Ticket: $10

Three Mulligan Tickets: $20

Team Sponsor - $950 includes:

  • 4 person golf scramble

Ball Sponsor -$500 includes: 

  • Company logo will be printed on high performance, eco-friendly golf balls designed to reduce the carbon footprint. Any company that is a golf ball sponsor will leave a lasting impression on the golf course – the average golf ball has 5 owners. A sleeve of 3 golf balls will be included in each player’s goodie bag as a welcome gift.
  • Company logo and name on SACC Chicago's website and social media, in our Flash newsletter and on the sponsor board at the event.

Hole Sponsor - $460 includes: 

  • Sponsor sign at one hole

Event Sponsor - $230 includes:

  • Company logo and name on SACC Chicago’s website and social media, in our Flash newsletter and on the sponsor board at the event.

Raffle Prize and Goodie Bag Sponsors:

  • Your company has the opportunity to donate raffle prizes and/or goodie bag gifts which will be displayed at the tournament, announced at the award ceremony, and included in each player’s welcome kit. We will also make a special thank you announcement and have your company logo and name on SACC Chicago's website, social media, Flash newsletter and on the sponsor board at the event.

WANT TO KNOW MORE ABOUT THE HISTORY OF THE GOLF OUTING?

ABOUT THE SCANDNAVIAN GOLF CLASSIC AND THE LES NELSON TROPHY

The Swedish American Chamber of Commerce, Chicago, used to be called MASTA before it got its current name. During their time as members of the organization, the avid golfer Les Nelson and his wife initiated an annual golf tournament. For many years the event was held at the Itasca Country Club. Later on when SACC Chicago and the Swedish Consulate started hosting interns from Sweden it was decided that the proceeds from the Golf Outing would go to support the interns to give them the opportunity to live and work in Chicago. 

In 2000, the now existing Les Nelson Trophy was handed out to the winning team for the very first time. Every year the winner's name is engraved on the trophy plaque.

Les Nelson and his wife have now passed away, but it is thanks to them that the Golf Outing is still one of SACC Chicago's most celebrated social networking events and that the trophy is awarded to the winning team.
